It's not about getting your leg behind your head or standing in a tree pose for two hours either! Yoga is a powerful tool, which has the potential to assist with many things on many levels, including acceptance. So if you can accept where you at right now - to be ok with your body and it's limits, then you are capable of doing Yoga! And if you are not capable of accepting where you / your body is at - you are still capable of doing Yoga - simply accept not to accept...and you're good to Yo-go! ;)

Bit of Background:

This ancient science was developed over five thousand years ago in India. Yoga is actually an 8 - limbed philosophy- it's the physical (Hatha) branch of Yoga that is most commonly practiced in the West - the one you have probably heard of / come across in gyms, studios, community centres, etc.

Due to it's versality, Yoga can be practiced by male and females, at any age, at any time - it's never too late to learn because it works with your body's systems in a natural, gentle yet powerful manner.

The Hatha Yoga practice consists of a series of asanas (poses) to open, relax and develop the body and thus the mind and then the spirit (emotions, soul, state of being). It is done bare foot on a slip-proof mat and so is easy to do almost anywhere - no need to drive to the gym, hire a court or find a team - just you, your mat and the wonder of opening, relaxing and positively transforming! :)
